Azamat Murzakanov stays undefeated with epic flying knee KO at UFC Vegas 50.
It wasn’t looking good for UFC light heavyweight Azamat Murzakanov in the middle of his UFC debut at UFC Vegas 50 before he sealed the deal with a late flying knee knockout over Tafon Nchukwi.
Murzakanov and Nchukwi went toe-to-toe for the first two rounds of the fight, with both fighters appearing a bit fatigued heading into Round 3. Murzakanov, in particular, looked spent as he made his way off of his corner stool and back into the action.
But Murzakanov’s fatigue wouldn’t last long as he threw a clean left hook followed up by a gruesome flying knee that sent Nchukwi flying. As Nchukwi fell to the canvas, referee Herb Dean stepped in and stopped the fight before Murzakanov could deal more damage.
Check out the epic knockout below.
Azamat Murzakanov makes his UFC debut in style
Murzakanov earned a shot in the UFC after earning a first-round TKO over Mattheus Scheffel on Dana White’s Contender Series last August. Before that, he earned the vacant Brave CF open weight title over Mohammad Fakhreddine at BCF 29.
Murzakanov also earned impressive wins over the likes of Andre Muniz and Guto Inocente on the way to the octagon. He’s now won three-straight fights by either knockout or submission.
Nchukwi has now lost two of his last three fights since winning his UFC debut over Jamie Pickett in Dec. 2020.
Meanwhile, Murzakanov could be a dark horse name to watch in the UFC’s light heavyweight division in 2022 and will look to keep his momentum heading into his next octagon appearance later this year.
