With Dan Radakovich reportedly taking over as athletic director, this may mean Manny Diaz’s replacement as the Miami football head coach is an incredibly obvious one.
Longtime Clemson athletic director Dan Radakovich is reportedly switching ACC allegiances and heading to Miami.
This would be his third athletic director gig in the ACC (Georgia Tech, Clemson and now Miami). Given that Radakovich got his MBA at Coral Gables, taking over at Miami makes a ton of sense. As to what he could do at head coach, he may bring someone else with him from Clemson if he is not down with Manny Diaz and the job he has done. Yes, we are talking about Brent Venables here.
Venables might be a top candidate at Oklahoma, but his connection to Radakovich is something.
I am told by a source that Clemson AD Dan Radakovich is going to Miami.
Next move will be decision on football coach.

Miami football: Would Brent Venables follow Dan Radakovich to Hurricanes?
Let’s be real. The coaching carousel doesn’t stop. Even if Notre Dame promoted Marcus Freeman from within, Oklahoma still has a head-coaching vacancy to fill with Lincoln Riley skipping town. Venables served as defensive coordinator under Bob Stoops before heading to Clemson. He has long been a head-coaching candidate, but has opted to stay put, but there is no staying put now.
Unless Radakovich and the rest of the Miami brass can back up a BRINKS truck to get native son Mario Cristobal to leave Eugene, one would think Venables is the guy in Coral Gables. Of course, Miami still has to part ways with Diaz, which will be oh so messy. Still, there is another guy who could be ripe for the picking with a sweet Miami offer: Ole Miss Rebels head coach Lane Kiffin.
Miami hiring Radakovich only strengthens the odds Venables is the Hurricanes’ next head coach.
