Here are three reasons to watch ONE: Battleground.

ONE Championship returns with six fights spread out over three different martial arts. The fight card will feature four MMA bouts, one Kickboxing, and one Muay Thai. Among those fights will be a variety of fighters looking to make a statement. From 17-year old Victoria Lee to Aung La N Sang in the co-main event, ONE: Battleground is sure to be an entertaining event.

The main event will be between two strawweight Muay Thai fighters looking to hold ONE Championship gold. Reigning champion Sam-A Gaiyanghadao has had quite the legendary career thus far. With that being said, Prajanchai has the skills to dethrone the champion.

In the co-main event, Aung La looks to bounce back against Leandro Ataides. After losing both of his belts to Reinier de Ridder over the past year, Aung La should be willing to do whatever it takes to win. On the contrary, Ataides has recently performed well and has the opportunity to steal the shine from Aung La.

World-class Muay Thai fighters go to war in ONE: Battleground main event

At the age of 37, Sam-A holds a lifetime Muay Thai record of 369-47-9. Not only is his record impressive, but Sam-A also holds the strawweight Muay Thai and Kickboxing title for ONE.

With the war miles starting to catch up to Sam-A, a new challenger looks to force a passing of the torch. Training out of the well-known PK Saenchai Muay Thai gym, Prajanchai works with some of the best coaches and fighters in the world.

Holding a record of 337-51-3, Prajanchai is a two-time Lumpinee champion and a two-time Rajadamnern champion. Prajanchai has also become a two-division WBA Asia South champion. All things considered, Prajachai is the perfect opponent for Sam-A.

17-year old Victoria Lee returns for her second pro fight

Being the sibling of two ONE champions, Lee has a massive amount of potential. At 17-years old, Lee began her MMA journey five months ago when she was 16. She made her pro debut against Sunisa Srisen (4-1) and entered the cage with high expectations. Lee showed she was the real deal by finishing Srisen in the second round by submission.

Going into ONE: Battleground, all eyes will be on Lee in the opening bout. Not only is Lee a talented female fighter, but her age makes her such an intriguing prospect. Considering she is related t0 Christian Lee and Angela Lee, becoming a champion for ONE seems to be destiny.

With that being said, Lee will need to focus on the opponent in front of her. Lee has been matched up against the 3-2 Luping Wong, who looks to use her experience advantage. Every win will take Lee to the next level of notoriety, and ONE: Battleground offers her the latest opportunity to shine.

Aung La N Sang starts the road back to a title fight

Aung La was on top of the world not too long ago. Holding two championship belts, Aung La was dominating everyone in his path. Suddenly, rising contender De Ridder earned his shot at the title. After winning the middleweight belt, De Ridder ended up taking Aung La’s light heavyweight belt too. Aung La went from two-division champ to a contender in only six months.

De Ridder may be champion for now, but he better watch his back because Aung La is coming for revenge. Set to take on Ataies at ONE: Battleground, Aung La should be hungrier than ever for a win. Ataies comes into this fight with the same intentions, previously losing to De Ridder in his last bout. Both fighters want to avenge their loss to De Ridder, but only one can come out victorious.

ONE: Battleground takes place on Friday, July 30, live from Singapore. Follow along with FanSided for all your live news and highlights.
